Five-time Daphne du Maurier Award winner Lori Matthews writes fast-paced romantic thrillers that start with a bang and don’t let up, delivering plenty of danger, unexpected twists, and a side of sizzling romance.

Lori grew up in Nova Scotia, Canada, in a house filled with books and readers. Some of her favorite childhood memories are of sitting in the same room with her mother and sisters, everyone lost in a novel and arguing over whose turn it was to put down their book and make the tea.

Thanks to her parents’ habit of leaving books scattered throughout the house, Lori discovered two great loves early in life: her mother’s romances and her father’s thrillers. It was probably inevitable that she would eventually combine the two.

After earning two degrees, becoming a librarian, getting married, and raising two children, Lori attended a writing workshop in Tuscany that rekindled her long-dormant dream of becoming an author. She has been pounding the keyboard ever since.

Lori’s romantic thrillers have won or finaled in more than a dozen contests, including five wins in the prestigious Daphne du Maurier Awards for Excellence in Mystery/Suspense. Her Callahan Security series alone earned her three Daphne wins.

Lori now lives in New Jersey with her husband, two children, a crazy dog, and a cranky cat. When she isn’t writing stories filled with danger, intrigue, and hot romance, she can usually be found reading one.
