Michael was born in Camden N.J. in 1952. Being the son of a Government Projects Engineer, he and the Family of 5 siblings moved often and got to see various regions of the USA as well as Europe. This somewhat nomadic life style brought the family closer together and was in stark contrast to the stability of his Father Lenny's youth of the 30's and 40's in Southern New Jersey.
His Parents, Aunts and Uncles spoke often of their experiences growing up in this pre-World War II era in mostly positive terms, in spite of the dark cloud of another global war swirling in Europe. But there were challenges at home as well. Neighborhood bullying and job security were a challenge then as they are today.
Michael used his vivid memories of these family stories of family life in south central New Jersey to tell his tale, 'Lenny's Dare'. Michael's primary goal in writing the book was to impart some positive moral messages for young people growing up today in the millennial age.
For a first Novel, Lenny's Dare has received glowing reviews from Manuscript Editor and Teen Challenge Senior Management.
