Roger Cerny

Not long ago, Roger Cerny took himself off the grid to conduct a self-described "sociology experiment". Born from an innate curiosity and a belief that everyone has a story to tell, Roger traveled throughout Southern California in his Sprinter Van spending time with people living on the fringes of society, listening to their stories. After his second cancer surgery, Roger put the van aside and started traveling in an RV. Honoring a promise he made with God, these roving yarns give a voice to the ones he met, and remind us that we are all a part of One Humanity, no matter what path each of us is on.

Born and raised in Orange County, California, Roger ran his own door contracting company at age 20 until the lure of the mountains and snow in Colorado promised more months of snowboarding. Living in Breckenridge, he was introduced to photography, Summit snowboards and made longboard-skateboards. After moving back to Orange County, Roger created WaveGuns™, designing the first unique, concave, wooden bodysurfing handplane, landing them in surf shops from San Diego to Santa Barbara.
