Lizzie is a British artist living in the Chicago suburbs with her husband, daughter and dogs. She writes stuff from the fluff that is her middle-aged brain which fortunately comes out as light tickly verse. Prompted by the need to brush off the otherwise depressing signs of aging, like the effects of menopause, she wrote Fair to Piddling to cheer herself up and hopefully raise enough money for a chin tuck!
Although Lizzie likes to grumble a lot, she finds her fifties absolutely brilliant and is one of a growing number of women writing about menopause and midlife. She occasionally writes serious poetry and was included in the recent Twitter anthology, VSS365. She is also a frequent contributor to Menopause Life Magazine. She writes under the Dog Poet and Fair to Middling on social media. Fair to middling is an English phrase meaning feeling just a little above average. Fair to Piddling came about because lately and more frequently, well, you know...
Wisdom and Worldliness sprang from Writing With Jane when Cornish author, Christine West, bought it and began sending letters from 'Jane', so brilliantly written that a friendship and collaboration was formed.
Doggy Biscuits is a hilarious tribute to rescue pups, Max and Griffin, Schnauzer and Schnorkie. Reviewed by actual dogs (and legendary poet, Brian Bilston's cat) it is richly illustrated with candid photos and adorable illustrations. You will ahh! and aww! your way through it again and again, it's that good!
She recently illustrated Dear Puppy for author, Kelly Herda and Uncle Bill's Missing Tooth with popular children's author, Grant S. Clark and has begun a series of parody author journals with Writing with Jane, a Jane Austen notebook.
