Eilidh Miller, FSAScot, has a BA in English and studied history as an undeclared minor to better inform her literature studies. A recent winner of the Robert Burns Literary Award and a Fellow with the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland, Eilidh was very active within Southern California’s Scottish community, spending a great deal of time volunteering with the charitable organization St. Andrew’s Society of Los Angeles.
A long-time historical reenactor, Eilidh loves research and educating the general public about historical events, as well as entertaining them with tidbits no one would believe if they weren’t documented. She extends this same energy to her work, extensively researching the historical periods she includes in her writing to ensure that the information she presents is correct, even going so far as to travel internationally to access archives and scout locations.
She resides in the Pacific Northwest with her husband, daughter, and feisty Shiba Inu sidekick while working on her master’s degree in the history and politics of the Highlands and Islands.

Tha BA ann am Beurla aig Eilidh Miller, FSAScot, agus rinn i sgrùdadh air eachdraidh mar neach-ionnsachaidh neo-ainmichte gus fiosrachadh nas fheàrr a thoirt do a cuid ionnsachaidh litreachais. A choisinn Duais Litreachais Raibeart Burns o chionn ghoirid agus na Caidreabh le Comann Àrsaidheachd na h-Alba, tha Eilidh gu math gnìomhach ann an coimhearsnachd Albannach Southern California, a’ cur seachad tòrr ùine ag obair gu saor-thoileach leis a’ bhuidheann charthannach St. Andrew’s Society of Los Angeles.
Na h-ath-chleasaiche eachdraidheil o chionn fhada, tha Eilidh dèidheil air rannsachadh agus a bhith ag oideachadh a’ mhòr-shluaigh mu thachartasan eachdraidheil, a bharrachd air a bhith a’ toirt aoigheachd dhaibh le tidbits nach creideadh duine mura biodh iad air an clàradh. Tha i a’ leudachadh an aon lùth seo na cuid obrach, a’ dèanamh sgrùdadh farsaing air na h-amannan eachdraidheil a tha i a’ toirt a-steach na sgrìobhadh gus dèanamh cinnteach gu bheil am fiosrachadh a tha i a’ taisbeanadh ceart, eadhon a’ dol cho fada ri siubhal gu h-eadar-nàiseanta gus cothrom fhaighinn air tasglannan agus ionadan scout.
Tha i a’ fuireach anns a’ Chuan Sèimh an Iar-thuath còmhla ris an duine aice, an nighean aice, agus a’ chliathaich feisty Shiba Inu fhad ‘s a tha i ag obair air a ceum Maighstir ann an eachdraidh agus poileataigs na Gàidhealtachd is nan Eilean.
Faodaidh sibh cumail suas ri Eilidh air TikTok – @authoreilidh – neo an làrach-lìn. Faodaidh tu cuideachd a dhol còmhla ris an duilleag Facebook aice gus cumail suas ris an ath fhoillseachadh, susbaint sònraichte, agus fiosrachadh mu bhith a’ nochdadh.
