As Jared Lindell stared into the eyes of his children, he realized both boys were struggling with two monumental life problems. One son hated the video game Fortnite, and the other one got nervous sometimes. To be fair, perhaps hating Fortnite isn’t exactly a “life problem,” but struggling with anxiety and worry can be. There was no better way to help solve both problems than to utilize Jared’s joy of the writing process to publish two books! Plus, it provided an excuse to do some research (AKA spend quality time) with his two sons. How great is that?!?
Hopefully, your young readers will enjoy The Fall of Castle Royale and Dad Gets Nervous Too, as much as Jared enjoyed writing them. The first shows the author’s fun and humorous side, while the latter strikes a somewhat more serious tone, as a father tries to help his son learn the difference between excitement and nervousness.

The Fall of Castle Royale is a conspiracy story about who controls video games. It’s a tween story full of tons of pop-culture references. The story is about friends, video games, and the relationship between fathers and sons.
