Mike Gillis grew up in Vicksburg, Ms. and attended high school there. His senior year in high school is when he got interested in photography and the dramatic arts. He started writing screen and stage plays fifteen years ago and then started his own film production company, "Raintree Pictures" six years ago. This film company only makes movies that are family-friendly. And they always consist of faith, inspiration and love. Two years ago, Mike had back to back ankle surgeries and decided to write a book. He finished "A Simple Life in Maine" during this downtime. He has written another book, "My Marine and Forever Love" which will be out in March 2020.

Mike's favorite saying about his books and films is "my films and books will take you away from this troubled world we live in. Even for just a while".
