Paul Schmidt

Paul Schmidt studied English and philosophy at Adelphi University in Garden City, New York in the late 60’s and early 70’s before spending over a decade in various religious sects including tenure as a Vedic monk in a Bhakti Yoga sect and as a minister in a counter cultural church that taught the reconciliation of all opposites. As a persistent seeker of answers to the question of how to transcend the mundane (or what he refers to as Mundania), Paul traveled extensively in the earlier part of his life, spending significant time in all of the lower 48 states of the USA, as well as in Puerto Rico. And he lived for awhile in India. Paul spent almost 6 years as a celibate, with commitment to abstinence from all drugs and alcohol, and at another time extensively experimented with mind altering, mind expanding substances. As a person interested in the subject of death and dying, he has served in several hospice organizations and is currently a member of F.E.N. (the Final Exit Network). Other interests of Paul’s include writing aphorisms and also, of course, shedding bright new light on the Bible and its influence on culture and society.
