Shawn Anthony Robinson

Shawn Anthony Robinson, Ph.D., is a social entrepreneur, literacy advocate, and co-creator of the acclaimed Doctor Dyslexia Dude (DDD) graphic novel series, developed with his wife, Dr. Inshirah V. Robinson, DNP, CRNA.

A prominent voice in the dyslexia education space, Robinson has served on the Advisory Council of Benetech and as a former board member of the International Dyslexia Association. His lived experience with early reading challenges shaped his passion for literacy and education.

Robinson’s academic journey exemplifies resilience and determination. Despite struggling with dyslexia in his youth, he earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Wisconsin Oshkosh, a Master’s in Education from DePaul University, and a Ph.D. in Language and Literacy from Cardinal Stritch University. These themes of perseverance are central to the Doctor Dyslexia Dude series.

His work has earned prestigious recognition, including the 2024 Excellence in Social Impact Award, 2022 Wisconsin Innovation Award, and the 2022 "A World of Difference" Award.
