Berkley Baker

Dr. Berkley A. Baker is a seasoned entrepreneur, educator, and innovation strategist with more than 25 years of experience helping organizations drive sustainable growth and adoption of new ideas. As the Founder and CEO of CIMI Solutions, Dr. Baker has worked with over 100 executive teams across sectors to navigate the complexities of early-stage commercialization, disruptive technologies, and leadership transformation.

His new book, Customer Adoption Reimagined, distills decades of real-world insight into a bold framework for unlocking customer traction. At the heart of the book is Dr. Baker’s proprietary CFOSS® model—Core, Financial, Operational, Strategic, and Social—which challenges outdated adoption frameworks and offers a multidimensional approach to delivering value across diverse stakeholder groups.

Dr. Baker’s expertise spans corporate innovation and startup acceleration. As a Startup Catalyst with Georgia Tech’s Advanced Technology Development Center (ATDC), he has mentored more than 60 HealthTech ventures, guiding them through customer discovery, product-market fit, and investor readiness. He also serves as a Professor of Practice at Georgia State University’s Entrepreneurship and Innovation Institute, where he teaches courses in business model validation, product-service design, and new venture development.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Baker served in senior sales and business development roles within the healthcare technology sector, including as Vice President of Sales and Business Development at a health tech startup. He also held positions at Intuitive Surgical, where he supported the adoption of robotic surgery, and at Ethicon Endo-Surgery, where he contributed to advancing surgical innovation through medical devices. A former U.S. Army Captain, he brings a disciplined, mission-driven approach to innovation leadership.

Dr. Baker holds a Doctorate in Business Administration from Georgia State University, an MBA from Emory University’s Goizueta Business School, and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. His career has been marked by a deep commitment to equipping changemakers with the tools to turn resistance into momentum and ideas into lasting impact.
