Darius Miller

Darius Miller is an author, inventor, educator, entrepreneur, and winemaker whose career has been shaped by a fascination with how people, technology, and ideas intersect.

His latest novel, OmniVis: The Ghost Protocol, explores a world in which extraordinary advances in artificial intelligence, memory, communications, and surveillance begin to blur the line between technology that serves humanity and technology that controls it. The story reflects Darius's longstanding interest in innovation, ethics, human behavior, and the unintended consequences of what we create.

Darius is also the author of The Zen Winemaker and The Zen Wine Tasting Journal, as well as the earlier Fallow Minds. He is a sole inventor on a U.S. patent and has spent much of his professional life developing ideas, building businesses, and teaching others.

Today, Darius and his wife, Lisa, own Koi Zen Cellars, a family-run winery in San Diego, California, where he makes wine and teaches people about it—usually without taking either subject too seriously.

Darius and Lisa have been married for more than three decades, have twin daughters, and recently welcomed their first grandson. When he isn't writing or making wine, he remains endlessly curious about technology, people, and the question that runs through much of his work:
