Paul Payten

Paul Payten is an Australian writer who spent two and a half years thinking about whether

he had any right to write this book. He decided the question itself was worth exploring.

Born in the late1940s, he has spent his life observing how gender shapes individuals,

families, communities, and entire societies. Living with a Vagina is his attempt to put those

observations into a readable, honest, and occasionally uncomfortable conversation.

His previous book, Your Eco Handbook (Fairfax Books, Sydney 2008), was co-authored

with a psychologist and an architect and aimed to change public attitudes toward

sustainability. He brings the same collaborative spirit of 'let us figure this out together' to the subject of gender.

He lives in Australia.
