Jane Eldridge

Jane Eldridge started her career as a young nurse in the melanoma ward of a major Sydney hospital. It was this experience that made her to pledge to protect her fair skin from the sun for the rest of her life. Fast forward a few years and she is living near the beach with little ones of her own to protect. Jane soon learned that while it was easy to protect toddlers and babies from the harmful rays of the sun, as her children grew up, they developed minds of their own and had different ideas about why sun protection was so important.

Living in a country that enjoys an abundance of sunshine, Jane wanted to educate her children about sun safety in a way that taught them how to enjoy the sun without harming their skin. She searched high and low for a children's story that would relay the message in an entertaining way. But there was no such book. So she wrote one. The Beach with No Sun is an amusing tale that explains to children why its a good idea to treat the sun with respect, and avoid damage to the skin.
