Keith Henry Brown

Keith Henry Brown is an author, illustrator, and visual artist whose work spans comics, fine art, and children’s literature. Known for his innovative blend of collage, pencil, ink, and digital techniques, he brings a bold visual voice to every project. A lifelong jazz enthusiast, he has designed for Jazz at Lincoln Center and created album covers for artists including nine-time Grammy Award winner Christian McBride. His children’s books—Birth of the Cool and Because of You, John Lewis—have earned awards and starred reviews for their vibrant storytelling and illustrations. His latest project, Pushing Hope, written by one of the Exonerated Five, reflects his dedication to stories of strength, hope, and justice. Brown lives and creates in Brooklyn, New York, where he also teaches illustration at Parsons School of Design.
