I grew up in Thuringia, but over the years lost my connection to nature. I worked as a chef, in marketing, and as a software developer. It worked. But something was missing.
Then my two sons came along.
I can still see them: how they turned over every stone, picked up every stick, and marveled at every ant. How they blossomed in the forest – while I stood there and realized I didn't even know which tree it was anymore. My children asked questions, and I no longer had any answers.
That woke me up.
I didn't want to be the father who only took his children to the amusement park on Saturdays and left on Mondays. I wanted to grow with them, be outdoors, and become curious again. So I started – learning, practicing, discovering. A hobby became a passion, and a passion became a calling.
Today, I live with my family in Berlin and, as a wilderness educator, mentor, author, and founder of Survival Compass and the Wildimpuls annual program, I guide people back to nature.
I'll show you how to feel safe outdoors again, recharge, and experience true connection.
You don't have to be able to do everything, but you can start.
