I often believe the thing that shocks the most people when I tell them I wrote a book, is the fact that I do not look like someone who would write one. I typically sport boot cut jeans, a dark t shirt and a pair of heavily worn boots. Not your typical scarf wearing, tea sipping author. My personality and aurora doesn’t fit within the mold, and that's how I want it to be.

The second thing that I seems to surprise people is my age. While I might be young, I like to think that wisdom is never based on age, rather experience and the willingness to keep an open mind. While experience does come with age, an open mind is something that some people can never learn. Being an author has required both of these things, and has even tested them to their limits.

While these traits about me surprise people who don’t know me, the thing that surprised the people who did know me well was the fact that I actually finished a book.

Writing had always been a passion of mine. For as long as I could remember, I would never fail to pick up a pencil and write whatever would cross my mind. As I got older, my passion developed and I saw it as a gift and began to write for a purpose.

You can only get so far when you write for fun. While it is great to write something that you and others enjoy, to me, there was no drive. I want to live my life with purpose, and I know that my writing will outlive me. Do I want to be remembered for some amazing fairytale that entertained millions? While that would be nice, I search for something deeper.

My purpose with this book and all of my future ones to push people to have a deeper way of thinking and to give them a place to go when the outside world is hard to handle. I found peace within my book, so I am sure others will find it there too.

A book doesn’t need to be true to teach a story, nor do the characters need to be real to make an impact. My hope is that my book and it’s characters will touch and heal people like they touched and healed me. I hope they find a friend in them like I did, I hope that they inspire people and push people to reach for their dreams, no matter how big.
