Brittany E. Brinegar has never been particularly good at leaving a mystery alone. Give her a suspicious character, an unexplained clue, or an interesting historical footnote, and she’ll probably start asking questions. She’s the kind of person who can’t watch a mystery without trying to solve it, and has been known to follow a research rabbit hole considerably farther than necessary.

These days, she puts that curiosity to work writing twisty mysteries and spy adventures filled with clever clues, witty banter, unexpected detours, and solutions hiding in plain sight. Her favorite part? Making readers absolutely certain they’ve figured it out—then proving them delightfully wrong.

When she isn’t plotting murders or sending fictional spies into trouble, Brittany can usually be found cheering on a Texas sports team, getting far too competitive during family game night, or explaining how she’d fix the plot hole everyone else has already forgotten.

She lives in Mineral Wells, Texas, with two canine writing companions who remain firmly convinced that sitting beside the computer constitutes meaningful creative input.
