Jane Mosse

Jane Mosse was born in Newcastle-upon-Tyne and remains a proud Geordie. As a freeman of the city she has the right to graze her cow on the Town Moor (she is yet to get the cow).

Her writing career began with a series of guides for boaters on the British canal network, a job she hated having fallen headlong from her mountain bike into the Coventry Canal. Poetry proved less dangerous and in 2018 she published her first collection, 'Guernsey Legends', along with artist Frances Lemmon, a joint project which celebrates the folklore of the beautiful island where she now lives.

Following early retirement she and her husband, Ulster-born poet Richard Fleming, embarked on a life of pet-sitting. Their adventures proved so entertaining that she wrote two volumes of captivating stories recording their exploits: 'Barking Mad' and 'Stark Raving Bonkers', which follow retirees Chris and Rob around Europe as they attempt to take care of a range of disobedient dogs, pampered cats, aggressive chickens and a rabbit that's intent on making the great escape. Fans of James Herriot will love their exploits.

A frequent visitor to Italy, especially Venice, she was asked to contribute a chapter to an anthology entitled 'First Spritz is Free'.

Having been mistaken for Camilla, (later to become Queen) on many occasions she decided to sign up with a lookalike agency. Her latest book,'Being Camilla: Life as a Royal Lookalike' is an hilarious account of the many wonderful jobs that have come her way, from starring in a Bollywood movie to appearing alongside Catherine Tate in her Netflix mockumentary, 'Hard Cell'.
