A life-long educator, Joan Moss has shared her gifts in art studios, community health centers, Sunday schools and around the kitchen table with her five children. Her role as wife and mother has taken her from upstate New York to the New Mexico desert and the Gulf Coast of Texas. When two of her daughters were diagnosed with cancer, she and her husband returned to New Mexico to care for them, and live there today.
Though Joan earned degrees at the State University of New York at Buffalo and the University of New Mexico, faith in Jesus has been the driving force in her life. When her girls died, that faith led her to the Psalms, where she found the explanations, promises and solace that inspired the writing of this devotional. "Jesus gave me a heart to see grief as a blessing," Joan says - "and when I hear readers say, 'Finally, someone understands!' - I know I've passed the light of His love on to other grieving mothers, which is all He has asked me to do." The recent edition of this book has enlarged font for easier reading.
Joan has also written "From Fairy Tale to Tragedy" for Heritage House '76. Photos: Author, with husband Patrick, daughters Sara, Lisa and Robin with cousin David
