I am a writer, photographer, and graphic artist. My tour in Vietnam gave me the travel bug and I still take to the road, ocean, and air the world over adding to my collection of stories and pictures for more books and photo exhibits. In addition to many other things, I've been the production manager of a Hollywood-based gambling magazine, piloted a riverboat through the Amazon where I helped establish schools in tribal rainforest areas, ran a catering business that fed some of the most famous rock stars on tour, co-founded a UFO research group, and recently retired from Apple where I was a computer solutions consultant. I live in Connecticut.
The other photos here are, left to right: My co-author of "Shooting Vietnam", Bob Hillerby, who died in a tragic accident in 2013; Joe Galloway, UPI photojournalist who photographed and fought in the battle of the Ia Drang Valley in 1965 - he is the author (along with Lt. Col. Hal Moore) of the book "We Were Soldiers Once . . . and Young" that also became one of the best Vietnam War movies ever - Joe graciously wrote the Foreword to both of my books; Nick Ut, AP photographer who took the Pulitzer Prize-winning photograph entitled "Napalm Girl" - Nick gave the books a nice testimonial that appears on the back cover of "Cameras Combat and Courage"; author Philip Caputo and I at one of his book signings here in Connecticut - Phil is the author of many books including one of, if not the best book on the Vietnam War entitled "A Rumor of War" - READ IT! And read Joe Galloway's books as well!
Lastly, the video is from a 2013 TV interview several of us did in Dayton, Ohio. It was before we had secured a publisher and shows an early version of the book layout.
