Rabbi Yoel Glick is a teacher of Jewish mysticism, one of the pioneers of modern Jewish meditation, and a spiritual mentor who has been guiding seekers on the path for over thirty years. He is the director of Daat Elyon, a center for Jewish meditation, spiritual wisdom and training in Jerusalem.
In the 80’s, Yoel moved to Israel together with his wife Nomi and founded Hochmat Halev, the Wisdom of the Heart, a ground breaking school in the Old City of Jerusalem that taught both traditional studies as well as Jewish mysticism.
In 1989, Rabbi Yoel retreated to a tiny village in the Pyrenees Mountains with his family, where he spent the next 20 years delving into the mystical traditions of Hinduism, Buddhism, and Christianity, forging links with ashrams, monasteries and gompas in France, Israel and India.
In 2006-07, Rabbi Yoel resumed active public life, working with small groups of students in Jerusalem, Canada and the United States. Since that time, his activities have expanded to include events at synagogues, ashrams, monasteries, seminaries and interfaith institutions with students from a multitude of backgrounds in locations across the globe.
In January 2018, Yoel and his wife Nomi returned to live in Israel and opened Daat Elyon Jerusalem. The center holds weekly meditations, classes and workshops, as well as monthly meditation retreats.
