Susan E. Greisen was raised on a rural farm in Nebraska and attended a one-room schoolhouse. But at age 19, she defied all odds to seek adventure and a broader understanding of life. Her passion as a nurse took her to remote parts of the world with the Peace Corps and CARE. She journeyed to 50 countries on 6 continents with her travel photographs published online by the BBC News.
Susan's award-winning memoir, In Search of Pink Flamingos, has delighted many participants at book clubs and events. As the chief editor and contributing author of the award-winning anthology, Never the Same Again, Susan along with Friends of Liberia (FOL) received the Outstanding Community Service Award from the National Peace Corps Association (NPCA). This anthology, co-edited by Susan Corbett and Karen E. Lange, shares stories and poems from 50 authors over a 60-year span of Liberian history.
