John Cadden

John Cadden was born in Liverpool in 1952. He has lived in various countries - Spain, France, Germany and Singapore. He began writing seriously in 1982 and published books on Shakespeare, Beckett and Orwell. He has also edited editions of three Shakespeare plays. He now writes only fiction and is the author of eight novels and two collections of short stories.

He has three grown children and – like his protagonist at the end of his historical epic 'Relic' – currently lives on a hill in Spain with his goats.
