William Kinread

William Kinread attended Sedbergh School and was one of 50 prize winners in a national writing competition run by Barclays Bank. The main prize was a European Tour but William’s writing was also reviewed by Philip Ziegler who was editor in chief of Collins at the time.

Philip Ziegler commented that William “had an obvious talent for writing but needed more experience of life,” being only 18 years young at the time.

William then qualified as a solicitor and for the last 35 years has not had much free time to devote to writing. Two years ago, however, he stepped down as a partner of a law firm and wrote his debut novel, a thriller: ‘Luger’.

William lives in North Yorkshire with his wife, son and dog. He enjoys running and outdoor pursuits.
