Chester E. Aki is a 2nd-grade bilingual elementary school teacher, Teacher Pay Teacher’s author, former collegiate powerlifting champion at the University of Texas at San Antonio, and a proud husband and father of a six-year-old son named Braxton, and a two-year-old daughter named Autumn.
Writing runs in the family for Chester. He is the younger brother of two published authors, Ajiri A. Aki (New York Times Top-Ten selling author) and Collins I. Aki (writer of fiction and poetry). Chester’s Teachers Pay Teachers Store, “Task Cards King,” has reached over 1000 teachers worldwide, and he has helped launch ethnically-diverse elementary schools in Austin, Texas, and San Antonio, Texas. His experience with diverse student backgrounds, and creating an inclusive culture of equity in the classroom are the foundations for his writings.
Chester’s sense of humor for the daily minutae of childhood that often turn into life lessons can be described as a mix of Seinfeld and Amelia Bedelia. As the son of a Nigerian doctor and a Jamaican horticulturalist, it is not surprising that this author’s imagination freshly combines the fun of the everyday world with the empathy needed to keep our world healthy and fun.
