Mike Sturm received his B.A. and M.A. in philosophy from Northern Illinois University—where he fell in love with Eastern thought. He has taught philosophy at the college level for several years, and researched Buddhism and Taoism extensively. He has also worked extensively in sales, marketing, and management.

He writes regularly online about self-improvement, practical spirituality, and productivity.

He lives in Roscoe, Illinois with his wife, Erin, and his daughter and son, Norah and Miles.
