Simon's latest book, 'Tinpot', tells the story of football's forgotten tournaments. From the Anglo-Italian Cup to the Zenith Data Systems Cup, 'Tinpot' celebrates the the strange and abandoned competitions that sparked into life before quickly disappearing forever. It’s time they were forgotten no more. Simon's previous books include '90 Minutes from Europe', which tells how an innovative British Airways advertising campaign foretold Walsall’s greatest cup run; an adventure that saw the club defeat Arsenal, stun Liverpool and come closer to reaching Europe than anyone would have dared imagine. In Simon's 'Walsall FC Match of My Life', sixteen Walsall legends tell the stories behind their most memorable games for the club. Spanning half a century of Saddlers history, it captures the precious memories of the heroes who mean so much to the fans. Simon's first book, 'If Only: An Alternative History of the Beautiful Game', is a fiercely original counterfactual history of football. It reflects on what our football history could have been, what it might have been and, in some cases, what it probably should have been. Simon lives in Lichfield with his wife Val and daughter Ellie.
