Ragina Scott-Saunders

Ragina Scott Saunders is the owner of Scott’s Grand Reception and Corporate Center in North Charleston, South Carolina. Her love for cooking and hospitality came from her grandparents, who had a “supernatural pot” — one that was always on the stove and never empty, no matter the circumstance. Everybody always got to eat! Scott’s Grand celebrates art, family, and business through special occasions, catering, and corporate events.

Ragina continues that tradition today. Live to give God glory and serving thy neighbor as they self. She is outgoing and self-driven with a personal passion for “helping people connect”. Her heart shows through her event management and catering.

In addition to Scott’s Grand, Ragina is the Founder and Executive Director of Destiny Community Café, the area’s only Pay-What-You-Can café. The purpose of Destiny is to raise the level of awareness about food insecurity (hunger) in this country and reduce food waste, while also being a catalyst for change in our communities. The Cafe works to reduce food waste while serving and giving from the heart.

She also is the creator of the Soul Food Foundation and Gullah/Geechee Kitchen to bring soul food restaurants, chefs and cooks together to preserve history and support the soul food industry.

She is a naive of Charleston – a true Gullah Geechee girl. She is a wife with great faith and mother of three, two daughters and one son. They all live happily with their foster dog, Pebbles.
