Eddie Jackson

Eddie freely admits that the Oklalusa story was influenced by the bible stories he first heard in church. Of longstanding interest was the story of Mordecai and Esther where the sinister Prime Minister Hamen sought to exterminate the Jews. The black state story focuses not so much on the Hamen type foes but rather the courage and creative organizational skills of the black leaders.

Two of Oklahoma’s finest universities trained Eddie Jackson in history and law and how to write in a style to please white professors and judges. His years with the Black Dispatch and Black Chronicle newspapers taught him to write in a style to please black readers. The writing style of his mature years is one of his own choosing. It reflects a freedom of the heart.

When not writing, Eddie enjoys walking and running with his dog, Red, an athletic Italian Greyhound and playing pickleball with his wife, Alvertis, an athletic Creek Indian freedwoman.

He is currently working on a new book about reincarnation.
