Sumant Barooah had his early education at an Irish Christian Brothers School, St Edmund's in the pristine hills of North East India where the schooling was under the aegis of the University of Cambridge.
Graduated locally and took up a professional career in shoe making which offered an opportunity to travel all across the World ending as a Director in a British Company. Majority of his career he worked with companies in the U.K.
Early years were spent travelling in Europe and North America and later years in the Near and Far East concluding with a memorable 8 years stint in China.
In the earlier days he has travelled extensively all over India and Nepal on adventure, Fishing, shooting and photography excursions. A life filled with adventure and travel.
He has written several books, Picture Travel Books, Culture Picture Books and Travel, adventure stories and memoir based fiction. He has also contributed travel articles in magazines in India and China and made some travel and adventure videos, available on YouTube.
Furthermore, he is a renowned photographer and a Chef by choice.
Now trained in creative writing and retired, he writes full time; unless he is travelling.
The books are of varied genre; love stories, exploits and occurrences, down to earth and normally factually based under a fiction banner. One can find stories one can relate to in his book collection.
