After a three year stint as a cook in the Marines, I returned to Oregon and commenced hacking and slashing. From custom processing and wholesale to retail, I've pretty much done it all. Since 1974 I've been in the business of meat-cutting and butchering. For several years 1992-2000 my wife and I created a newsletter Ark Essentials "promoting provident living and positive preparedness". We branched off and I wrote Confessions of a Butcher-eat steak on a hamburger budget and save$$.
My goal is to save folks from spending more money than they need and to help them get the best deals possible. I totally understand pinching pennies, having grown up raised by a single mom who never owned a clothes dryer or a car by choice.
