Greg Vick

I have lived my entire life in Indiana, being born and raised in the northwestern section and spending my entire professional career in the northeastern corner of the state. As a high school teacher and coach for 33 years, I was constantly jotting down “bits” of wisdom, motivation, and inspiration gained from other sources and people, both living and passed on.

In my mid-50’s, I started writing some “old school” poetry with verse and rhyme. Even though a couple pieces were published, I did not pursue poetry as a hobby or livelihood. Later in life, I decided to share memoirs of my personal stories of life-changing events. Many of these related to my immersion into the Asian health and martial art of Tai Chi. My first book, Mastering The Moments – Life Lessons Inspired by a Tai Chi Master, was centered around my mentor and my learning of mind-body-spirit balance to help me “master” the ever-changing moments of life.

My mentor also influenced me toward distance running, which I began soon after his passing in 2005. After a near catastrophic first race in 2006, I sensed God’s presence. Combining that with running, I formed a spiritual and step-by-step partnership that became the impetus for Running With God.

My books contain a wealth of personal stories, unique experiences and perspectives, and potential life lessons for all readers. The books focus a great deal on the important spiritual aspect of successful living. In Mastering The Moments, I relate how physical talent, without spiritual motivation and mental mindset, doesn’t always produce the desired or expected results.

In Running With God, the Holy Spirit is the key liaison element to seeing God through others and others through God. By partnering with God and seeing His World on a daily basis, I have “run” with His urges through life, in general, and over thousands of miles together. One of my favorite mottoes is, “Trust God, just do it.”

In Trusting God's Plans, I reflect on the many times during my life where my plans were altered by His urges, nudges, and intuition. With hesitancy and risk-taking, I trusted God's plans for me, which uncovered unknown talents He wanted me to pursue and determined directions for my life. Follow my stories of trust from my teenage years up to present day.
