Kassey Cameron

Hi, my name is Kassey! Having successfully lost 60 pounds (27 kg)—and having kept it off for over three years—I wanted to help others do the same by sharing my successes and struggles so that they don’t have to find their way blindly. Over the last three years I have worked with over 70,000 people to help them adopt a Ketogenic lifestyle, not only to lose weight, but to lead heathier lives.

I am not a prepackaged, frozen dinner or bland chicken and brown rice girl. I want flavor, I want fresh ingredients, I want cultural dishes—I want it all. So one July day I decided to make my own recipes. Over time I learned that it wasn’t “I can’t have ___,” but rather “I choose not to have ___.” What is most surprising to me is that by sharing my story and recipes online, I developed a following of men and women that shared my same vision, and from this my Keto4Karboholics website was born.

In a world obsessed with carbs, it’s difficult to get started. That feeling of helplessness— of not knowing what to turn to when you need a quick snack, an appetizer for a party or a cake for a birthday, after eating a very different way most of your life—is real. Habits and traditions are so strongly centered on food that it can seem almost impossible to break away. I won’t sugar coat it—and not just because I gave up sugar—but the first week is hard. During my first week of Keto, I told my husband that I would rather be fat and happy with my French fries than live a life carbless. But that wasn’t true, was it? I was overweight—that part was true. But I wasn’t happy.

Having a science background, I knew how it worked. I understood the physiological responses food had on the body. And I told myself, “Kassey, you NEED a change. And this is it. You can’t give up in a week when you gave yourself YEARS to try to make the way you were eating before work. While the weight loss may not always be fast, a loss is a loss and your health is worth more than short term cravings. You can do anything for seven days.”

I am a strong woman that has birthed two children, and I was NOT going to let food control my life anymore. And so I made the commitment to get through those first seven days. And at the end I was feeling like I had more energy, my bloat was gone and the number on the scale was going down. I was empowered to keep going. And the rest is history.
