Thomas Funke

I was born in Muskegon, MI and raised in Bangor, MI, exploring the fields and forests of my parents 25 acre hobby farm. I graduated from Western Michigan University with a degree in Biology/Environmental Studies. I worked for the Binder Park Zoo for 20 years and had a 25 year involvement with the Michigan Audubon Society, from volunteer to their first Conservation Director.

Meanwhile, I've explored hundreds of trails and backpacked the entire length of Michigan using the North Country Trail.
