Scott Jones was born in Redruth, Cornwall in 1972. After growing up in Camborne he joined the Royal Navy in 1991, serving for 22 years before leaving as a Petty Officer in 2013. In 2007 he started to prepare for life outside of the Forces by qualifying as a Fitness Instructor. Further qualifications were achieved, and in 2012 he opened his own gym, SJFitnessUK Ltd in Camborne. His love of writing began in secondary school when he won a classroom challenge to write a short story. His first book, 'Secret of the Dark Woods' came about as a challenge from his youngest daughter for him to write a 500-word story. However, it soon got out-of-hand and three months later the book was finished. As a proud Cornishman, there was only ever one location for the book - Cornwall. Further books are planned, with the sequel, 'The Curse of Kaninjanga Island' released in September 2020. When not writing or in the gym, Scott spends time with his three children who have inspired his writing.
