Patsy Secrist

My name is Patsy Secrist and I am not a writer, but I had a story I had to share. It is a story of redemption and forgiveness which changed my life forever.

I was born in Washington,D.C. in 1951. My family moved to Yokohama, Japan when I was six weeks old. When I was about four, we moved back to my fathers hometown, Pensacola, Florida. We lived in Gulf Breeze and I grew up loving the beach. When I was eight, we moved back to Japan, to a little town called Tokorazawa. After a few months we moved onto the Army Base nearer Tokyo. When I was still twelve, we moved to Salt Lake City, Utah for one year. Then on to Charleston, South Carolina. We lived on the Isle of Palms.

I left home at fourteen and lived on Folly Beach. I married right after I turned eighteen and had my daughter the same year. We moved from Charleston to Kaneohe, Oahu, Hawaii. We moved to Idaho Falls, Idaho when I was twenty two and later we got a divorce. We remarried and got divorced again one year later.

Later, I married again and had my son when I was twenty seven. After about ten years together we got divorced.

My father was sexually abusive to me from age nine to eighteen days before my thirteenth birthday; then he was physically abusive.

As you can see, I was quite a mess and needed help. That's when God came to my rescue and this is my story.

You will cry and most people who have read my book cannot put it down. It is a compelling and captivating story.

We don't know how many children are sexually abused but a large majority are abused by those closest to them - a father, mother, uncle, etc. The numbers are devastating - almost half of every woman you know has been molested and it's almost the same for young boys.

800,000 children disappear each year and most are abducted into the child sex trade that is going on all around us. I was "lucky" I didn't end up there, but if God had not rescued me, I may have ended up addicted to alcohol or drugs (or both) and would have probably ended up selling my body as a prostitute, I'll never know, thankfully.

There is Hope and Healing and it only comes from Jesus Christ.
