William H. Young

William H. Young was born in Cleveland, Ohio and grew up in West Lafayette, Indiana along the Wabash and in the shadow of Purdue University. Young's collection, Blue and Other Stories, was awarded a Kirkus Star and named by them a Best Indie Book of 2021. Kirkus called his follow-up collection, A Block Over: Stories of a Personal Nature, "a treasure trove of subtle insights and narrative ingenuity." Young founded the creative writing program at Arizona State University. He is the leading exponent of the Ethnographic Burlesque School of Poetics. He lives just outside of Los Angeles, California with his family.
