Cordelia Bailey

I was born in Dallas, Texas in 1949 and given the name Kathleen Cordelia Bailey. My mother loved art and encouraged my loves of legitimate theater and of oil painting. Because my father worried these passions would not enable me to earn a living, I went to college where I studied Middle East and Asian studies, earning a PhD from the University of Illinois. This enabled me to enter government service, where I became a policy-maker in arms control and defense affairs.

Regardless of what type of job I held to earn a living, however, I have always been an artist as well. I am a painter, photographer, and author. Because I have thought that my middle name should be good for something, I used it for my painting and photography. Hence, the book entitled Cordelia Bailey Photography.

In addition to this fine art book, I have written four non-fiction books (published by presses)under the pen name Kathleen C Bailey, two fiction books (self-published), and one autobiographical book on what it was like to make a feature film (self-published). The latter three are under the pen name K.C. Bailey.
