Lisa Baker is a teacher, award-winning artist, author, and musician. She is a child development specialist with a master’s degree in school counseling and a doctorate in human relations. She has been teaching early childhood and kindergarten for over 25 years. Lisa taught school in Utah, and in southern California at both the elementary and college levels. She currently teaches in the state of Nevada.
Lisa grew up in the small coastal town of Point Pleasant, New Jersey. It was there, in a seaside studio, where she took her first lessons in guitar and piano. She was extremely active in all aspects of music and theater while in high school and college.
Lisa moved from southern California to Las Vegas, Nevada to be with her son as he pursued a career as a chef. She has lived in beautiful southern Nevada for 20 years. Lisa met Lorraine Watson while teaching early childhood in Nevada. Lorraine was Lisa’s administrator, and when they both realized they were musicians with a love for early childhood, they vowed to work together to create music and books for the classroom someday.
Ms. Baker, as she is known at school, still joyfully teaches kindergarten in Nevada where she gets to try out all “Lisa and Lorraine” material on her biggest fans. She is a mother and grandmother and loves spending time with family. When Lisa isn’t writing music and books, she enjoys traveling, camping, fishing, cooking, and saving the wild horses and burros of Nevada.
