Tom Riedlinger

Tom Riedlinger is a writer, artist, and licensed mental health counselor currently employed as an inpatient group therapist in Olympia, WA. After serving four years in the U.S. Air Force from 1968-72, Tom spent a formative year at Central Michigan University; worked 13 years as an editor/writer for national trade magazines in Chicago while earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Northwestern University; and then earned a master's degree in theological studies and world religions at Harvard University. Along the way, he served three years as Associate in Ethnomycology at Harvard Botanical Museum and was named a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London. His two published books are THE SACRED MUSHROOM SEEKER and MORTAL REFRAINS. He also has written and published numerous essays and articles in academic journals, newspapers, and magazines, as well as chapters in anthologies pertaining to cultural uses of psychoactive plants. Tom is married to hospital chaplain Beverly Jean Jenden-Riedlinger.
