C.G. Harris was born and raised in Brixton, South London, England, U.K. before eventually locating to the suburbs of Kent, a huge contrast to inner city life.
His Private Investigator series - The Casebooks of Aaron Baum - are set in late 1940s New York, the first two books being Murder in Manhattan and The Manhattan Files. Set firmly in the hard - boiled, nor detective genre, nevertheless Aaron Baum is a unique character in himself: an army veteran of the Pacific campaign and two years post war in the NYPD then branching out on his own - where his idea of a quiet life is tailing adulterous spouses...yet the mysteries, murders and corpses seem to fall right in his path. Jastrow, his ex war buddy detective in NYPD, will help (reluctantly) when needed. With his bourbon, jazz and his 'cat with no name' right by him he resides in La Salle Street. He is nobler than he thinks...but still has to pay the rent.
Always an avid reader and writer, he has pursued the latter in recent years and his first book of short stories, Light and Dark, was well received and short listed for the Georgina Hawtrey-Woore Award for Independent Authors. His second - Kisses from the Sun - was similarlyy well received and he has won the William Van Wert Award for a fiction short story.
He loves music and has played in a rock band. His current hobbies are tap dancing, juggling and playing the guitar and ukulele...almost never all at the same time...
He has a wife, two daughters, four grandchildren, a cat and a dog, all of whom keep him happy and busy.
