Alfonzo Williams

Alfonzo Williams - one of seven children raised in poverty by a single mother - began his law enforcement career with the Augusta, GA Police Department at the age of 19. Promoted to detective at 21, he went on to become a highly-decorated officer, instructor, police chief, and - since 2017 - the sheriff of Burke County, GA.

Author of two books - "Not Here To Be Served" (memoirs) and "Police on Policing: The Unsung Consensus" (a discussion about law enforcement in America with a panel of experts) - Alfonzo is currently at work on a true-crime novel, scheduled to be released in November of 2020.
