Carol Zeavin

CAROL ZEAVIN was born in Los Angeles, California, and graduated from UCLA with a BA in music. A professional violinist in NYC from 1977, she added a career in early childhood education in 1992, earning two master’s degrees from the Bank Street College of Education (in Early Childhood General Education in 1997 and in Early Childhood Special Education in 2002) and working with toddlers as head teacher at The Rockefeller University Child and Family Center and the Barnard College Toddler Development Center. She went on to work with individual toddlers as a Special Education Itinerant Teacher through Y.A.I. and Theracare, which brought her to the home of her Terrific Toddlers co-author, Rhona Silverbush, and they began to work on their innovative toddler book series.

Currently, in addition to writing books for the Terrific Toddlers series, Carol teaches piano and violin to children and adults of all levels and challenges, and continues to perform classical music in New York City.
