Welcome to my author page!

I’m a British cosy mystery author who has written the Edward Crisp mystery series and now The Am-Dram Detectives series. I released my debut novel, Who Killed Miss Finch?, in August 2020 and it has topped the Young Adult Kindle charts in the UK (due to the school setting and teenage co-lead, this series is suitable for young adults as well as adults).

My new series, The Am-Dram Detectives, is a love letter to my lifelong hobby of amateur dramatics, where I’ve been an actor and director. I particularly enjoy directing Shakespeare productions and am now studying for an MA in Shakespeare Studies with the Shakespeare Institute in Stratford-upon-Avon. I’m also the artistic director of a theatre company, Shakesbeer Productions.

I’m a qualified 11-18 English teacher - a career which was the inspiration for my first novel, in which a school Head Teacher is murdered. I currently juggle my author career with teaching GCSE English re-sits in a small creative college.

The fictional seaside village, Chalk Gap, the setting of the Edward Crisp series, is just a few miles from Eastbourne, UK, the beautiful East Sussex seaside town where I now live with my partner, Graeme, though I’m originally from Wigan in the north-west of England.
