Tommy Bell

Tommy Bell began writing in high school, mostly lovey-dovey poems he never gave to the subject and two-page stories, written one sentence at a time during a slow work shift. Raised in Maryland, Virginia and Florida, he now lives in St. Petersburg, FL. While living in Chicago, he was inspired by the works of Sara Paretsky and Anne Rivers Siddons. He first started on "The Anron Chaptor" in the 1990s, following young Jason as he goes way back in time- meeting dinosaurs! "Rouges", a different genre, was shortly thereafter. Three of his books are partly based on the fabled Flamingo Resort of west Florida, much missed by many. Loves include the gym, writing, reading, acting, family and The Windy City! His dog Allie, a blond-white Petite Frisson Basset Vandeen, helped him write four books. Way before Allie, Tommy was scribbling on scraps of paper in his car and banging out keys on a typewriter with a sticky "a". That was after a bad break-up and failed relocation to Miami. Friends like Jack, Mark and Jean, plus a couple impish teddy bears named Bo and Husky, still help along the way. Tommy works at a non-profit social service agency but escapes with his characters. He hopes you'll come along for the ride! Sunscreen or a warm coat today...?
