Vanathy .

Muthuprakash (1976–), who writes under the pen name Vanathy, is a writer, translator, and amateur historian.

Trained as an engineer and formerly an IT professional, he later turned his attention to writing and historical research. Over the years, he has translated numerous British Raj-era documents into Tamil, helping make important historical sources accessible to a wider readership.

His interest in literature and passion to make literature available easily for young teens has made him think about using coloring books as a means developing their interest in reading them.

Muthuprakash has written or translated more than forty books covering history, literature, and related subjects.

He is married to Jeysri, a primary school teacher, and they have two children, Sibi and Vanathy.

The pen name "Vanathy" has been part of his identity since his college days. Named after a celebrated princess from Tamil history and literature, it was a name he admired so deeply that he later gave it to his daughter as well.
