Matthew Merced

Matthew Merced, Psy.D., is a licensed psychologist. He earned a doctorate in clinical psychology from George Washington University in Washington, D.C, and currently maintains an independent practice in psychotherapy, assessment, and consultation. He has taught graduate courses in developmental psychology, psychological assessment, history of psychology, basic/advanced clinical skills, and psychoanalytic psychology. He has published extensively on clinical topics, including: dreaming, treating patients with borderline personality disorder, psychotherapy change mechanisms, “choking” under pressure, and medically unexplained somatic symptoms. He has also published on professional topics such as clinical supervision and the evolution of training programs for clinical psychologists.
