Hi, I'm Derek, and I'm glad you're here. If you like Vikings, Mythology, Norse or Celtic folklore (Trolls, Dwarfs, the Vikings TV show, Lord of the Rings, The Chronicles of Narnia, that kind of stuff), then we’ve got something in common and I think you’re going to love the Saga of Souls books.

As a Norske American, I’ve always been fascinated by the myths and folklore of my Scandinavian ancestors, and of course, the Vikings. I am blessed to live in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Western North Carolina with my beautiful wife, Lisa, and our three wonderful children. As with everything I do, I write for them.

My hope is we have some interests in common, that you can’t get enough of this stuff, and that you like my take on it. I tried to breathe some new life and perspective into some old tropes, while staying faithful to the history, folklore and myth that underpins it all. I hope I can bring something new into your life that is fun, interesting, and brings you joy.
