Helen Gorrill

Helen Gørrill (b.1969) was born in Yorkshire, and lives/works in Cumbria. Her scholarship-awarded PhD was co-supervised by the Royal College of Art, and completed in 2016. Helen's artwork is included in prestigious collections, including the Brooklyn Museum’s EASCFA Artabase. She has lectured in the visual arts for ten years, and is now an academic based at DJ-CAD, University of Dundee. She is currently writing her second monograph, continues to work in arts editing; and has written for many prestigious presses including The Guardian and Arts in Society. Helen is passionate about art, equality, her family, and rescue cats CousCous and Cheryl. She doesn't mind too much that she's been described as a working-class Titania McGrath by the far-right presses.
