Hello,

I am Andy and I was diagnosed with Parkinson's in June 2010, when I was 47, although my tremor had started a couple of years before and I ignored it thinking it would eventually stop by it's self.

In 2015, I embarked on the GDNF roller coaster and the experience changed my life for the better. Not that there was any thing wrong with my life, I was happy and contented, but the trial and it's aftermath moved me out of my comfort zone and forced me into situations I had never experienced before.

My first book 'GDNF What happened To me' began as me wanting to record some of the detail of the trial before I forgot it and ended up as 27,000 words. The adventures continued and so did I with my second book 'GDNF What Happened Next'.

Please read the books to learn of the adventures that I had over my GDNF years, good and bad, but all true.

I believe that a cure for Parkinson's is within our grasp and i'm saddened by the fact that for various reasons that cure is not available to the people who need it.

The photos posted are all of me, including me with my head bandage 24 hours after surgery, my port site after the head bandage was removed, me relaxing on holiday after the trial had ended, me all dressed up for filming of the 'Shine' video and me with my book.

I have 3 passions in life Anna, GDNF and dancing and without the GDNF the dancing would not have been possible. We started dancing around a year after the trial ended, having got a taste for it whilst on board our first cruise. We were soon doing 3 dance classes a week and then in addition we hired a local hall to practice on our own for 2 hours on a Sunday. Before GDNF I struggled to get through the working week with evenings and weekends devoted to resting. If you watch the dance videos you may think the world would be a better place without our dancing, but we enjoy it and GDNF has made that possible.
